In 2000, I purchased a dollhouse for my wife from Old World Dollhouse in Oconomowoc, WI. It was more than your basic dollhouse. When I went to place the order, the owner asked if I wanted some extra features for the dollhouse. The first feature added was the dining room, The second feature he talked about was very interesting. His wife worked with leaded glass. He offered to make a garden room feature and she would provide the leaded glass structure for the room. So, of course, I added both additional features, which makes this dollhouse very unique.
Over the years (2000 through 2020) we collected furniture and various accessories for the house. We did this by shopping at miniature shows, and visiting dollhouse stores. Another channel that we obtained furniture and accessories was through Smithsonian Magazine. They offered various "kits" from Reutters. These included:
- Kitchen cupboard with all of the accessories
- Kitchen sink with dish rack and dishes
- Kitchen refrigerator
- Bathroom set
We also started collecting light fixtures. Recently, in the last six months, we have purchased the rest of what we needed to completed the house. These included:
- Flooring
- Wallpaper
- Electrical wiring and tools
- Additional Lighting
- Additional accessories
The images in the gallery show the completed project. These purchases were made from the retailers shown on the Important Links page.
